Hybrid Water Heaters in Lakeside
The water heater is the second biggest energy user in most homes, and a hybrid cuts its share by more than half. Instead of making all its heat with electric elements, a hybrid uses a small compressor to move heat from the surrounding air into the tank. Same hot showers, a fraction of the operating cost.
Will One Work in Your House?
A hybrid wants room to breathe, roughly a thousand cubic feet of air around it, or a louvered door to borrow from the next room. In Lakeside that usually means a basement or garage, and the unit pays a small bonus there: it dries and slightly chills the air while it runs, which the damp basements a few blocks off the lake can use. The converted cottages with water heaters wedged into tiny closets are where we sometimes have to say no, or get creative with intake kits.
Swapping out an electric resistance tank is the cleanest case, often reusing the existing 240-volt circuit. We handle the whole installation, including the drain line for the moisture the unit pulls from the air, plus any utility rebate paperwork. If endless hot water matters more to you than operating cost, look at a tankless unit instead.
